Frequently asked questions

Questions and interesting facts about milk fibre.

BUT CAN PEOPLE WHO ARE ALLERGIC TO MILK WEAR DUEDILATTE FABRIC?
The answer is yes! Those who are allergic to milk can happily wear Duedilatte fabric. The main allergies are divided into two macro areas: food allergies and contact allergies. Common milk allergies are generally food ‘intolerances’ mainly related to lactose, the sugar naturally present in milk of animal origin. Allergies to casein, the milk protein, are much rarer. There are, however, cases of food allergies to this protein, but given that the milk tissue is worn and not eaten, we can therefore exclude the fabric as a main source of allergic potential.

WHAT ARE THE CHARACTERISTICS OF DUEDILATTE FABRIC?
There are many characteristics of Duedilatte fabric: it is a 100% natural fabric, antibacterial, breathable, thermoregulating and very soft. Very resistant when washed, it has a natural elasticity that allows it to mould itself to you almost like a second skin. The Duedilatte fabric is light and silky, halfway between silk and cashmere, and it is a true caress for even the most delicate of skins.

IS MILK FABRIC RESISTANT?
The answer is yes! Duedilatte’s fabric is very resistant to both washing and the stresses of daily garment wear. Exploiting the natural elasticity of milk fibre, the fabric moulds to the body and behaves like a second skin, protecting and caring for the wearer in a natural way. Moreover, washing the fabric at low temperatures improves its performance, does not cause pilling and is much more durable over time.

DO YOU HAVE A SAMPLE BOOK?
No, because we produce fabrics to order, we can customise the blends and create custom dyes.

DO YOU PAY ATTENTION TO ENVIRONMENTAL SUSTAINABILITY?
Of course we do! Producing milk fabric has very low carbon dioxide CO2 emissions and considerable electricity and water savings; in the cotton industry, 2700 litres of water are needed to produce one T-shirt, while just 6 litres of milk are enough to produce one T-shirt.

IS THE MILK FABRIC CERTIFIED?
The Duedilatte fabric is an innovative natural textile with exceptional qualities. It holds prestigious international certifications like REACH and OEKO TEX STANDARD 100, and has gained new globally recognized academic certifications. These achievements are the outcome of advanced bioengineering techniques applied to textiles, validated by Politecnico di Milano University and INNOVHUB. These new certifications cover both the textile and food sectors, providing a comprehensive and authentic assurance of Duedilatte fiber, yarn, and fabric at every production stage.
